Meanwhile, the stage came alive with the sounds of live music, featuring performances by iconic Australian bands like the Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I on the first night and along with many other fantastic artists over the weekend, providing the perfect soundtrack to accompany the festivities.

No barbecue festival would be complete without a tantalising array of sauces, spices, and chillies. A few stand outs were the chilli sauces from The Fermentalists, try their fermented Chilli Oil, Sriracha Sauce, and the Bourbon BBQ, all of these are super delicious. Then there was Misty Gully’s Death Salt, a tasty punch of flavour, along with their spice rubs. And of course, the award winning 13 Angry Scorpions which packed a spicy delight.

From tasty rubs to fiery hot sauces, vendors offered a wide selection of condiments to complement any meat dish. Brave souls tested their taste buds with chilli sauces, while others indulged in the sweet treats at Sweetstock to balance out the heat. The fresh doughnuts were great.

The heart of Meatstock Sydney lay in its competitive spirit, as teams battled it out in smoking competitions to claim the title of BBQ champion. Judges scrutinised each dish, evaluating flavour, tenderness, and presentation, while competitors showcased their culinary prowess with innovative recipes and techniques.

Arm wrestling enthusiasts squared off in intense battles of will and muscle, testing their strength and determination in head-to-head matchups. Cheers erupted as competitors locked arms and vied for supremacy, with each match showcasing the sheer power and competitive spirit of the participants.

Meanwhile, axe throwing enthusiasts took aim at wooden targets, honing their skills and precision under the guidance of experienced coaches. With axes flying through the air and hitting their mark with satisfying thuds, attendees couldn’t help but be drawn into the excitement of this ancient and thrilling sport.

Refreshing libations flowed throughout the event, with Jack Daniel’s whiskey and Better Beer taking centre stage. Attendees raised their drinks in celebration, toasting to good food, good company, and the spirit of Meatstock Sydney.
